This is a 5-string mandocello made on commission. With single strings, rather then the usual pairs, the neck is a reasonable width. Body shape is modeled on a Maccaferri gypsy jazz guitar. Open peg-head, pick guard and arm rest trimmed in rosewood. Scale is 26 inches, longer than the Gibson standard, allowing slightly thinner strings. Powerful and easy to play.
