It attempts to fairly reflect the amount of work various options take me, and the cost of materials. It won't be exact but will give you a good ball park figure.

Some of the tropical woods have gone extremely high -- I recently saw a set of Brazilian rosewood on sale for $2500. This is an extremely endangered species and we should learn to get along without using it! I try not to use endangered woods unless the buyer insists on it.
