Number 258 is a prototype classical mandolin with a thread-through bridge assembly which exerts almost no down-pressure, allowing an ultra light lattice-braced top. Walnut body, redwood top, flat fretboard, and no-frills tuners. The photos show a solid bridge, but it now has an adjustable bridge. I believe it is very successful and similar to classical instruments, with a little more sustain.
