Number 282 is a flat top octave mandolin with a straight-through string path. Because this exerts no downward force on the bridge, it allows a super light lattice-braced top and requires a hold-down bar behind the bridge. The result is a pure, powerful tone with easy playability. Body is American black locust, and the top is Alaskan yellow cedar. All my standard features, bolt-on adjustable neck, two way truss rod, zero fret, carbon fiber compression brace, side port etc. Gloss water-based lacquer finish. Good fit in a TKL7843 tenor banjo case.
