Number 209 is a classical style mandolin with 3-piece deep back and flat top. The body is reddish maple
and the top is Alaskan yellow cedar, a very stable wood. Trim is reddish wood and veneer, with slot head
gold Rubner tuners and gold frets. Scale is 13-3/4". The sound is balanced, not too mellow but not as
bright as some Italian bowl-back instruments. Action is low and easy to play with Thomastik flat wound
strings. It has my usual bolt-on adjustable neck, internal compression brace, 2-way truss rod and side port.
