Number 74
This is a copy of #40 made for Brian Roe. Brian is a young virtuoso who is
winning contests including second place at Winfield in 2006, playing
my #40. He wanted another one just like it and this is the result.
The only change is that I used my improved adjustable neck joint,
which I developed at least a year after making #40.
THIS IS MY DESCRIPTION OF #40:
This is a flat-top instrument with X-bracing and F holes. Body is beautiful shedua,
neck is mahogany and the headstock and finger rest are African olive veneer.
Nickel-plated hardware complements the cool color tone of these woods.
It has a powerful tone for a flat-top, with the punch of an arch-top and the
round, full tone of a flat-top. It has an elevated finger rest and arm rest to
keep from damping the tone as you play. Would be suitable for any style including
Celtic, classical or bluegrass.
