Number 47
This is a big, robust flatpicker's guitar.
The body is purpleheart, a fine tonewood with an unusual color,
and the top is Sitka spruce.
Construction is unusual with a "no-heel" neck which is fully removeable
and adjustable. The top has beefy X-bracing to handle heavy strings.
It has an African blackwood head veneer and unusual "tumbling blocks"
inlays of shaded black Tahitian pearl. The edge binding is Indonesian rosewood with
a thin white veneer outline. A hand made bois d'rose soundhole rosette completes the look.
This is a great bluegrass guitar for someone who plays hard.
At low volume it sounds smooth and simple, but
the harder you play it the more it produces.
This guitar is on consignment at the Guitar Cellar in Boulder, CO.
