Number 92
This is a bouzouki with arched plates, graduated like
those of an archtop guitar with tone bar bracing. This
gives it a crisp attack and lots of sustain. The scale
is 648 mm. and the strings are in unison pairs.
The body is American sycamore, and the top is Port
Orford cedar (actually a cypress).
Visually it is stunning, with the body points accented by
carved ridges on the top and back, elaborate inlay, and
an unusual hollow head stock. Orange-red toned lacquer, gold
hardware and rosewood bindings and veneers complete the
warm look.
Construction features include the usual user-friendly bolt-on
neck and an adjustable bridge. The neck has a modern 2-way
adjustable truss rod.
