Number 90
This is a bouzouki I made and donated to ZoukFest for
their raffle. Roger Landes, the director, thinks highly
of it. It is now up on their web site, http://zoukfest.com,
and there will be video of Roger and Chipper Thompson
playing it "soon" (as of June 2008).
The body is purpleheart, an inexpensive but excellent tone
wood, and the top is Sitka spruce. Boxwood bindings complete
the simple yet rich look.
Here is what Roger Landes wrote about it:
"This is a beautiful instrument. Deep and complex.
Very punchy but not boomy in the bass. Crisp treble all
the way to the 22nd fret. Loud enough for tune playing
in a session. Set up to play like a dream."
Not for sale obviously, but I could make a similar one.
