Number 83
This is a flat top bouzouki with curly maple body and black Sitka spruce top.
It has a guitar-like scale length and is
strung with octave pairs for the low (G and D) courses. The flat top gives
a rich, thick tone which is complemented by the zing of the high octave strings.
Construction features include the usual user-friendly bolt-on neck
and parallel-bar bracing of the top to withstand the downward pressure
of the bridge. The neck has a modern 2-way adjustable truss
rod.
Appointments include curly maple finger rest, bridge and tail piece.
Gotoh mini tuners with small plastic buttons provide easy tuning and
light weight. A heavy cast tailpiece adds sustain.
Decoration includes Celtic knot inlays on headstock, fingerboard and
heel. A black top displays the rich curly maple appointments, with
gold tuners and rosewood bindings completing the look.
The finish is buffed gloss KTM-9 water based lacquer.
This is a great instrument for Celtic music, or to accompany singing.
