Number 82
This is an arch-top bouzouki in bubinga with a top of
old-growth redwood. Bubinga is a beautiful African rosewood
which is very dense and hard. Trim and appointments are bloodwood, a
dense New World hardwood known for keeping its red color without fading
or turning dark.
It has a long scale (similar to a guitar) and
is strung in unison pairs. It has a bright, complex, percussive
sound which will ring through the loudest session.
Construction features include the usual user-friendly bolt-on neck
and X bracing in the top. The neck has a modern 2-way adjustable truss
rod.
Appointments include hand made bloodwood bridge, finger rest and
tailpiece which will accept both loop-end and and ball-end strings.
Gotoh mini tuners with small plastic buttons provide easy tuning
and light weight.
Decoration emphasizes the blended reddish tones of the woods.
Inlaid ebony Celtic knots on headstock and finger board and black
tuners completing the rich, subdued red-and-black color scheme.
Finish is low luster satin gel varnish.
This is a great instrument for Celtic music, or to accompany singing.
