This is an octave mandolin (or tenor mandola, tuned GDAE) with
arch top and flat back. The body is Indian rosewood and the top is redwood. Scale length is 580 mm or about 23".
Construction features include a user-friendly bolt-on neck,
carbon fiber internal compression brace, modern 2-way adjustable
truss rod, and tone bar bracing of the top.
Decoration includes ornate Orpheum-style mother-of-pearl inlay.
Bindings are black ebony, with lines of white maple veneer to
frame the back and sides. Bridge, head veneer and finger-rest
are rosewood to match the body. Nickel open-gear tuners and
cast tailpiece, and a flaring peghead complete the ornate,
traditional look.
This is a great instrument for any style. The tone is lush
and complex with great sustain.
