Number 70
This is an archtop Octave Mandolin with curly maple body and Sitka
spruce top.
It has a relatively short scale (21") and is strung with d'Addario
FT76 flat wound mandola strings. The arched top and back give a full, rich,
balanced, sustained tone.
Construction features include the usual user-friendly bolt-on neck,
unequal X-braced top. The neck has a modern 2-way adjustable truss
rod, and the bridge is adjustable. Grover 18:1 micro-tuners provide
easy tuning.
Decoration includes the richness of Madagascar rosewood for the head plate,
finger-rest and binding, and abalone inlays. A golden stain highlights
the curly maple.
This is a great instrument for Celtic or old-time music, or to
accompany singing.
