Number 38
This is a flat-top octave mandolin with body of bubinga (African rosewood)
and top of Sitka spruce. Finish is buffed waterbase lacquer.
Construction features X-bracing and a bolt-on neck. It has an elevated
hardwood finger-rest and arm-rest to keep your arm from dampening the
tone by resting on the top. Bridge has thumb-wheels for easy adjusting
of the action. There is a modern two-way guitar truss rod in the neck.
Decoration includes nice hearts and diamonds inlay of Vietnamese pink pearl,
neck and bindings of curly maple, and all that beautiful bubinga rosewood.
This instrument has a smooth, rich tone and would be very good for Celtic music.
